REALTOR® of Distinction: Pam Bishop
Pam Bishop personifies the
Golden Rule: Treat people how
you want to be treated. This REALTOR® of Distinction not only has
the personality to succeed in real
estate, but her life and work experiences
set her apart from other
real estate professionals.
Pam is family and community
oriented, which any client would
recognize as a major attribute
in the real estate business. She
was born in Georgia and raised in
Florida, where her family has been
in the real estate since the 1952.
While attending Reinhardt College,
she met her husband, Bob, of 36
years. For the first 25 years of
marriage, she was a stay-at-home
mom for her three children, and
she is now enjoying her wonderful
two grandchildren, anticipating the
arrival of a third grandchild. During
various stages of her children’s
lives, the family moved nine times
and this type of life experience has
helped Pam appreciate her clients’
inevitable stress.
Pam has lived in Mount Pleasant
since 1986 and feels blessed
to have her family living in the
Charleston area. She is an active
member of St. Andrews Episcopal
Church in Mount Pleasant, involved
in the welcome team, children’s
ministry, and wedding guild. For
two years, Pam also participated in
the Avon Breast Cancer three-day
walk to help raise money to fight
breast cancer.
Pam’s work experience, credentials
and distinctions prove her
to be an outstanding agent. Two
years after entering the profession
in 1989 under another agent, Pam
ventured out on her own, and has
continuously added to her professional
repertoire including being an
Accredited Buyers Representative,
Certified Buyers Representative,
and Certified Residential Specialist.
Her accomplishments are
numerous, including being an East
Cooper Top Producer since 1992,
and earning a position as Executive
Council for the Longpoint office.
Pam also serves on the Membership
Committee for the Charleston
Trident Association of REALTORS®,
and was just named a director of
the organization.
How does a person know that a
real estate agent will be top-notch
from the beginning? Excellent
follow-through. Essentially, Pam
feels it’s important to get information
quickly for her clients and to
return phone calls the same day
they come. Because of her work
history and her community involvement,
she has a great command
of the profession and her clients
depend on her for more than just
real estate advice. A recent client
returned to Pam for six separate
real estate transactions, saying, in
the end that if there was a way
to clone Pam, it should be done.
Being new to the area, this client
called on Pam for vital information
for his family.
“I realize that many times I’m
the only real local contact a client
has,” explains Pam. “I can get
clients in touch with great people,
from hair stylists to babysitters.”
This type of personalized attention,
knowledge, and dependability
is certainly invaluable to folks new
to an area. Pam’s philosophy of
empathy shines through as she
states, “I understand that selling
or buying a home is the biggest
transaction people make. I’ve
been there many times, while having
a busy life raising a family, and I
do the best I can to ensure smooth
transitions for my customers.”
